Scott Kunihiro

Scott focuses on origination execution, thesis development, and market research and analysis. With experience across M&A advisory, corporate development, and private equity-backed acquisition strategy, he specializes in identifying proprietary, off-market opportunities for private equity firms, family offices, and strategic acquirers. Over the course of his career, Scott has sourced 45 transactions and helped deploy more than $1 billion in capital, with notable experience across business services, marketing and advertising, industrial, aerospace & defense, healthcare, and other tech-enabled sectors.

Prior to Basilisk, Scott served as Vice President of M&A at Directive Consulting. Before that, he was a member of Hawke Media’s corporate development team, where he helped source 15 acquisitions and tripled the firm’s deal volume in his first year. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles in business development and operations at a boutique M&A advisory firm in Los Angeles, sourcing 30 transactions for mid-market private equity funds and strategic buyers.
